Forget Rome and Paris
Europe is the second smallest continent on the planet; however what it lacks in dimension is makes up in all its beauty and majesty. Paris, Rome or even London are stunning places to see don’t get us wrong but the huge crowds tend to take away the cities charm. We are not say we are against visiting these common beautiful tourist destinations in Europe, as they are all must see’s! But here are a few of our favorite under the radar cities to help you see more of the European continent.
Setenil de las Bodegas, Spain
This could definitely be one of the most unique places in Spain you could visit. It consists of 3,000 local residents whom literally live under a rock. The town originates from a network of caves in the cliffs above the Rio Trejo, this is situated just northwest of Ronda. The white houses emerge off the rocks; some even have beautiful olive groves on the roofs.

Utrecht, Netherlands
Situated only a mere half an hour train- ride from Amsterdam, which means why not visit both cities? Once you arrive in this beautiful Dutch city grab a bike and explore the city, full of winding canal systems and locals strolling around the streets. Once you have worked up an appetite why not grab an Oliebollen, which is a delicious doughnut covered in sugar and served in a paper stack. Yummy!
Tellaro, Italy
Tellaro is a peaceful fishing village; many say this is because you are not constantly bumping into tourists! You are also able to appreciate the authentic Italian beauty. Go get lost in the narrow colourful alleyways, the vibrant squares and the panoramic seafront off the rocky peninsula!

Alesund, Norway
This is one of the best places to witness the summer solstice! People usually stack themselves upon the wooden pallets in the form of a spire, similar to a pyramidal structure to celebrate the solstice. It is truly something unique. The city is perched at the top of Norway’s Western Fjord country; it is picture perfect and spread over several islands, with a spectacular view of Sunnmøre Mountains as a backdrop. The city is not only filled with natural beauty but the architecture is truly remarkable. Learn the history at Aalesunds Museum, or visit one of the world’s largest aquariums, the Atlanterhavsparke.
