Pimples are a common problem that many have to deal with, especially teenagers. They are the swelling of the skin that is infected with bacteria and usually appear on the face, the neck, back and shoulders. There are tons of products out there designed to get rid of pimples but they take time and don’t always work. Instead, try out these home remedies and see if they do the job.

1. Ice

Ice can be used to reduce the swelling of pimples before they can become completely infected. Simply wrap some ice in a cloth and hold it against the effected are for a few seconds. Repeat this process after a little while.

2. Toothpaste

Home Remedies for Life says that toothpaste has clotting properties that reduce the swelling of pimples and prevents bacteria from spreading to other skin pores. However, you must choose the right toothpaste. Look for one with ingredients such as baking soda, menthol, alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. Use your finger to apply the toothpaste directly over the pimple but do not rub. Leave it on for an hour or two before rinsing off.

3. Honey

Honey contains anti-bacterial properties and is a good moisturizing agent. Simply apply honey onto the pimple and the skin around it. Leave it on for half an hour and then rinse off with warm water. Do this daily if the problem is serious.

4. Cucumbers

According to Natural Remedy Ideas, “Cucumber is rich in potassium and vitamins, for examples, A, C, and E. It likewise has a cooling and alleviating impact on the skin.” Cut the cumber into pieces and absorb in water for a minute as the water will absorb the nutrients. Strain the water and wash your face with it.

5. Stream

Steam can work wonders on the skin as it opens up the pores and gets rid any bacteria that is inside. Fill a bucket or container with hot water and let the steam to make contact with your face for a while.
