STEPHAN DIPPENAAR TIES THE KNOT IN WINTER WEDDING

“I was 16 years old when I first saw Stephan at Diaz Beach, Mossel Bay. We both attended an event at Diaz Hotel & Resort and it was there that  I first laid my eyes on my future husband.” Says Louise Dippenaar (née Müller).

Professional Rugby Player, Stephan Dippenaar describes himself as a true “farm boy. When not on the rugby field, Stephan is getting ready for life after rugby where he will be enter the farming world with his dad, in Moorreesburg.

But until hat time come, it’s wedding bells and whistles as the 17th June 2017, marked the coming together of two individuals in a Winter Wonderland ceremony in the heart of Riebeeck West.

“It was a very emotional moment for me and I fought to keep the tears back when I saw my perfect bride walking towards me.” Stephan says.

Opting for a colourful theme, that best describes them as a couple, the venue was decorated in pink’s, green’s and orange tones. “Victoria and Rose Stationery created a beautiful logo for us and we wanted to incorporate it throughout the wedding.  Since Louise comes from a farm close to Vlees Bay our guests went home with a little bit of honey all the way from Ouland (their farms name)” Stephan added.

As for the venue, “We wanted a venue where you did not need anything else but flowers, with a white backdrop to work with. When we saw Groenrivier, we instantly fell in love. The chandeliers and fairy lights just sold it to us as a couple. It is one of the few venues that could accommodate 140 guests, is not too far from home, and offers accommodation. We also saw it fitting to get married in Riebeeck West since it is our neighboring town now and wanted to show our guests how beautiful the Swartland area is.” Stephan says.

Stephan and his groomsmen stole the show, dressed by TM Lewin in a classic royal blue design matched with custom made Silvery cufflinks and fun colourful Happy Socks. They added a pop of earth tone with their Dune London capped-toe footwear.

But it was Louise who took our breaths away in a custom-made Kobus Dippenaar design. As a friend of the family, Kobus designed a long sleeved and classical/timeless dress that exuded winter wonderland elegance. Her bridesmaids donned elegant designs from Kameo Designs, with added sparkle from Colette by Colette Hayman Jewellery.

Whilst the guests indulged in beef fillet and rich Nederburg wine, and cake mad by Emma’s Cakes, the ever-funny and charismatic Chris Dry (teammate of Stephan Dippenaar) entertained the guests and served as MC for the evening.

“I would describe our wedding day as a proper winter wedding from warm winter soup, Nederburg red wine, warm pancakes, all surrounded by heaters and morning winter rain. I wanted my guests to have a great time and for me, getting in bed at 4am is definitely a proper celebration of a job well done.” Stephan says.

We wish the happy couple a lifetime of love and happiness and look forward to their next chapter in life, together as a married couple.
