First up is Sasha Pieterse, best known for her role as Alison DiLaurentis on the ABC hit TV show Pretty Little Liars. Born in Johannesburg, the actress got her first acting role at the young age of six as a character on the series Family Affairs.
Troye Sivan
You might remember this guy form the popular movie Spud. Sivan was born in Johannesburg and moved to Australia when he was two. He had his first acting role in X-men Origins: Wolverine and is now also a singer and songwriter.
J.R.R Tolkien
Yes, the author of one of the biggest book series ever, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, is from South Africa. The author was born in Bloemfontein and moved to England with his mother at age 3.
Tammin Sursok
Another member of the Pretty Little Liars cast is Tammin Sursok. The Johannesburg born actress has had a great career, appearing in shows such as The Young and the Restless, Home and Away and Hannah Montana.
