One of the best sources for local content can be found in reality shows. Shows like Living The Dream With Somizi and Being Bonang are a great way for fans to connect with the celebrity and see their lives for themselves. Another reality show hitting our screens will star DJ Zinhle, only this show will be a bit different than others.
The show, which is titled It Takes A Village, will be shot in Zinhle’s hometown Dannhauster, located in KwaZulu-Natal. The twist on the show is that it won’t go behind the scenes of her life but is instead focused on empowering women. According to All4Women, a source revealed, “Zinhle is working with some schoolgirls in her hometown to make a difference in their lives and it’s some very empowering stuff. It’s a lot of hard work but Zinhle is ready for it,”
In an interview with Drum, the South African DJ said that the show will make us realise that we are dealing with a lot as a country. “The women on the show had powerful stories. When I sat down with them I didn’t feel worthy of their stories or journeys. I felt like they were more powerful than I could ever imagine myself being.”
With many topics regarding women being so popular this year, we must commend DJ Zinhle for choosing to do such a project. Let the empowerment of women everywhere continue to grow.
