It has always been assumed that Chrissy Teigen is the life of the party to every event she attends. And well this assumption is not wrong; the model insinuated to American Cosmo that she might have actually been too much in the past, due to her affinity for alcohol beverages. Speaking to the Cosmo Magazine over the weekend while at the Chas Sapphire Sundays Brunch event in Venice Beach, California she admitted that she and her husband, John Legend recently enjoyed a wellness retreat in the heart of beautiful Bali. The getaway to this wellness retreat was in order to reset the bad habits . “I was, point blank, just drinking too much,” she said.”And then I felt bad for making kind of a fool of myself to people that I really respected. And that feeling, there’s just nothing like that. You feel horrible. It’s not a good look for me, for John, for anybody.” And while some of the circumstances in which she specifically mentioned overindulging—while getting her makeup done, and at awards shows—may not be super relatable, her talk around the ills of day drinking, specifically in a brunch setting, definitely hit close to home. “People think it’s cutesy and fun to go on these boozy brunches, but there’s more to it. I’ve never once been like, ‘I’m sure glad I had that boozy brunch!’” So true… right?
During her alcohol-free time in Bali, Teigen explained “I would wake up feeling amazing. My skin felt amazing. I was just so happy.” Though she also opened up about the history of alcohol abuse in her family, she said she “used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober.” Now, however, she feels differently. “I don’t want to be that person. … I have to fix myself.” Teigen has solid motivation at present to do so, too, as she has told Cosmo that she and her hubby John Legend would soon be trying for baby number two!
It is the reason we love Chrissy as she is so candid about her life, and the very real and retable struggles she faces despite fame. I think it is important to understand that know matter who you are famous or not we all face our own challenges and vices in life. We are inspired by Chrissy and her path to figure out how to live a healthy, successful and balanced life.
