Sometimes in life we find ourselves having to be employees because we are working towards a certain goal, or we just have a passion to not starve to death.
We encounter exiting moments, unforgettable colleagues and sadly but true, HORRIBLE BOSSES. Here are FIVE HORRIBLE CELEBRITY BOSSES that make your boss look sweet.
With an estimated net worth of about $60 million, annually, between his restaurants, reality TV appearances, and other businesses, Gordon Ramsay is a force not to be reckoned with. You might know him from HELL’S KITCHEN or RAMSAY’S KITCHEN NIGHTMARES. Yes, he is that angry chef! His temperamental personality scared many employees, but made for great television. In 2004, according to GRUBSTREET, Ramsey once shoved a contestant, who fell to the ground and sprained his ankle. He fat-shames with ease and fires people on-the-spot.
Ironic how her surname is pronounced “winter”, isn’t it? Anna Wintour is a media mogul, who can transform, bring to life and sustain a perpetual growth of whatever she chooses. She grew up in a wealthy family and according to Forbes Magazine, has always had a decisive character. In her early twenties, Wintour became the editor of a home and gardening magazine. She revolutionized everything from the cover to the quality of photos published inside the magazine. It has never been the same since then. She left this magazine and is now the editor-in-chief of VOGUE magazine. So much in so little time? There were definitely toes that were stepped on. Wintour’s decisive character leaves no room for mistakes or mediocrity. Unlike the celebrities discussed above, Wintour has not been reported as physically violent towards her staff, she is just known to have an opinion and if anyone dare oppose it, they would fall victim to her cunning commentary. Ever heard of the movie, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA? Yeah, that is all about her.
According to THE TALKO, Mariah Carrey is the worst celebrity boss to work for. Apparently pop star is so lazy, she hired staff to do the most basic of things for her, like hold her drink and open doors for her. She gave orders to be pushed around in a wheelchair because she didn’t want her feet to be hurt by her new shoes. She is reported to not assisting with her ill sisters’ medical bills and being ungrateful to her nanny and housekeepers.
Being the curator of popular television talent show, X FACTOR, producer Simon Cowell has done very well for himself. Being friends with the likes of Gordon Ramsey, it is not far-fetched that this X FACTOR judge will have no guard over his mouth. He, too cannot stand mediocrity and is not afraid to express that. Three months ago, on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, while critiquing a contestant, Cowell made a “below the belt” reference to Mel B’s wedding night by saying “I kind of think it will be like Mel B’s wedding night. A lot of anticipation, not much promise.” Outraged, Mel B poured a mug of water on Cowell’s head and walked out. Why was this so insensitive? Mel B is going through a divorce and it is alleged that it is because of verbal, physical as well as sexual abuse in the marriage.
And then last, but definitely, not least, popularly known as the queen of the catwalk, the first black super model and rival to Tyra Banks (to date), Naomi Campbell, has thrown everything she can lift, at her staff, the paparazzi and even “annoying” fans. Campbell was reported to have slapped her limo driver and fled the scene. She beat her house-keeper and as if that was not enough, Campbell also slapped her assistant and continued to beat her.
